Capitoul - Rosé - AOP Languedoc 2018

Delicate pale pink with lovely glimmering highlights. The nose is pleasingly complex with notes of small red fruits evolving to exotic fruit and spicy notes, characteristic of the La Clape terroir. Smooth and yet fresh, the palate is full of fruit and spices (ginger and pepper) with immense volume and richness thanks to the maturing on fine lees.

Terroir and Vinification

Ideally located in the middle of the Languedoc’s largest natural site, viticulture is practiced producing wines of high quality and reflecting the best that “Appellation La Clape” has to offer. In 2015, the appellation La Clape was accredited “Grand Cru” thus joining other prestigious, internationally renowned French appellations. The grapes for this wine come from vine planted on urgonian limestone clay and stony soils.  The grapes are picked during the coolest hours of the night and then directly pressed to ensure optimum preservation of aromas and to control the intensity of colour. The blending of these grapes contributes to the aromatic complexity, whilst the terroir expresses the spicy and fresh characteristics of La Clape cru. Ageing on fine lees following alcoholic fermentation creates further aromatic complexity and volume.  Great with tapas, Serrano Ham, seafood and grilled meats.  Wonderful too with strawberries chopped with mint or in a tart.
