St Pierre de Serjac Syrah 2019

The colour is bright and velvety with nice purple hints.  The nose reveals notes of small red berries, blackcurrant and liquorice.  In mouth, this is a rich and full-bodied red wine with blackcurrant fruit, chocolate and pepper and aromas.

Terroir and Vinification

The vineyard offers a wide variety of pedioclimatic situations from sandy clay and limestone soils to acidic pebbles.  In such soils, the water reserve is low, creating water stress that leads to excellent maturities.  The grapes are harvested by hand and brought to the winery where they are de-stemmed, crushed and put into fermentation vats. Long maceration with with pigeage (hand plunging) and temperature regulation allow a gentle extraction of, colour, tannins and fruits from the grapes
